Kochi: A madrasa teacher from Perumbavoor in Kerala has been found guilty of sexually assaulting an 11-year-old student. The Pocso court in Perumbavoor has sentenced madrasa teacher Aliyar to a total of 67 years in prison. A fine of 65,000 rupees has also been imposed. However, convict Aliyar will have to spend only 20 years in jail, as all the sentences will go on simultaneously. The case came to light in January 2020 from a madrasa under the Thadiyattaparambu police station area.
The case is that Aliyar sexually abused the boy several times in the madrasa room. Not only this, the accused used to force the child to watch the video by giving him his phone. The child told this to his friends. The friends told the class teacher in this regard and they talked to the principal about it. After this, a complaint has been lodged with the Child Welfare Committee and the police station. According to the statement given by the child, he used to go to the madrasa in the morning to get training, but for a long time, Aliyar had been calling him in the evening and misbehaving with him. The accused would take her to the room and force her to have oral sex. At the same time, the child also told that he used to give sweets to keep his mouth shut and threatened to fail the test if he told anyone about it.
The SSP has said that the accused had also given the child a mobile phone to watch the obscene videos. But the father of a child saw it and broke in anger. But by then they didn't know anything about it. When a complaint in this regard was given to the Child Welfare Committee and on the basis of this, the accused was arrested under the POCSO Act on January 19, 2020, the family members of the victim came to know about it.
After this, the court found Aliyar guilty in the case and by adding various sections, Aliyar was sentenced to 67 years. According to the prosecutor, the child said in his statement that madrasa teacher Aliyer had committed similar acts with other children, however, no one lodged a complaint. According to the information, Aliyar will be shifted to Viyur jail soon.
