Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Sub Inspector of Police Jyoti Sudhakar has been accused of stealing the mobile phone of a youth killed in a train accident. Deputy Inspector of Police Jyoti Sudhakar has now been suspended. In fact, the Former SI Sudhakar of Mangalapuram in Thiruvananthapuram was posted as Sub-Inspector of Chathnur at Kollam. Sudhakar was using the mobile phone of Arun Jerry, a native of Perumathura in Thiruvananthapuram district, with his number.

In fact, Jerry was hit by a train on June 18, 2021, and died thereafter. When the family went to check the body, many items including mobile phones were not found. On the other hand, the police told him, 'It may have been trapped under the train. However, the family members had lodged a complaint with the Kerala DGP and cyber cell police about the disappearance of mobile phones. The cyber cell wing of Kerala Police then found that the mobile phone was active in Chathnur.''

It was further revealed that Sudhakar was using the phone. In fact, Jerry's body was examined under the leadership of Sudhakar, then an SI of Mangalapuram. It is believed that the officer stole the phone during interrogation. Not only that but he allegedly kept the mobile phone secret and did not record it in official documents. On the other hand, the DIG, Thiruvananthapuram Range said, "Further investigation will be conducted against Jyoti Sudhakar.''
