Lahore, the capital of Pakistan's most populous province, has the poorest air quality and has become one of the world's most polluted cities, strangling the city's citizens. IQAir, a Swiss technology company that manages the AirVisual monitoring platform, has named Lahore the world's most polluted city.

Residents are breathing in acrid smog, with an air quality rating of 348, which is above the hazardous standard of 300, and are pleading with authorities to find a solution. "Children are suffering from breathing problems. Look for a remedy ", according to Muhammad Saeed, a daily wagering labourer.

Lahore's name has been added to the list of the world's most polluted cities. Low-grade diesel emissions, smoke from seasonal crop stubble burning, and chilly winter temperatures have choked the metropolis.

Air pollution plagues both countries, which are at the top of the pollution index due to their proximity to India through the Punjab area. Residents of this city of at least 11 million people, many of whom are impoverished, claim that continuous respiratory problems caused by air pollution are causing severe problems for poor families who cannot afford to pay doctor's costs.
