Lucknow: The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has rejected the bail plea of Ashish Mishra alias Monu, son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra alias Teni, in the Tikunia case of Kheri. The high court said that in view of the facts on record, Ashish Mishra cannot be released on bail. The decision was given by a single bench of Justice Krishna Pahal while dismissing the bail plea of Ashish Mishra.

It may be recalled that during the arguments of the case, it was stated on behalf of the accused party that according to the prosecution plot, Ashish Mishra was present in the Thar car and he instigated the driver to board the vehicle in the crowd. The court said that there was such a crowd at the spot, there was the noise of the police siren and no prosecution witness was present in the Thar car, so how can it be believed that any witness of the prosecution had heard the accused instigating his driver to board the vehicle. It was said that Ashish Mishra was actually present in the Dangal at the time of the incident.

It was also claimed that 197 locals have given an affidavit confirming this before the investigating agency. At the same time, it has been argued on behalf of the plaintiff and the government that it has been revealed in the statement of the witnesses that Ashish Mishra was present at the time of the incident and was firing from his Thar car. Quoting the statements of witnesses, it has also been argued that the taxi driver by which Ankit Das left Kheri has also given a statement that on the way Ankit Das was talking on the phone regarding the incident, the said conversation confirms the allegations against Ashish Mishra.
