Gwalior: The administration and the food department have taken joint action to destroy 600 kg of contaminated Mawa In Mandsaur district of Madhya Pradesh.  According to the information received, the Mawa was recovered by the administration during a raid operation, the seized Mawa is said to be 4 months old. The contaminated Mawa was recovered on Thursday in an operation conducted at Mehta Mawa store, a warehouse of Neha Sweets in Sitamau. As per the information received, this contaminated mawa was to be supplied during the upcoming Rakhi festival.

The administration and the food department have also sealed the 1575 kg mawa godown of the same institute and samples have been sent for investigation. The process of devastation of Mawa was done with the help of JCB in an uninhabited place. A pit was dug and dumped with contaminated mawa, and the place was filled with clay. Food authorities in this whole case that role remained in doubt. They were also not believed by the administrative team and the District Food Officer at N-Time was informed about the location of the raid by the SDM.

As per the information received, the administration informed the officials of the Food Department of sudden raids and asked them to reach the spot directly. The administrative team said that if any officer or employee was found guilty of involvement in the ongoing health-care business in the area, strict action will be taken and an inquiry will be instituted.
