Chandigarh: The Gwalior-Chambal Police of Madhya Pradesh arrested the most wanted criminal by entering his house, that too amid heavy firing. In Andraula village under the Palwal area of Haryana, where the local police are also afraid to enter, the Gwalior-Chambal police have arrested the wanted criminal, Khurshid, in broad daylight. During the raid, a mob of 200 people who had given shelter to Khurshid in the village attacked the police. Women and children were also involved. In the meantime, people also opened fire at the police, but the Police of Gwalior-Chambal entered the house and grabbed the accused and dragged him to the car. According to the information, this village is Muslim-dominated and the entire village is an expert in carrying out ATM cutting. Khurshid has admitted to committing crimes in Morena, Sheopur, Assam, Noida and Alwar.

On Saturday (February 19, 2022) night in Gwalior, miscreants had stolen around Rs 44 lakh by cutting off three ATM machines in the city. Based on the CCTV footage installed in the ATM, the Gwalior Crime Branch was engaged in identifying the accused. The crime branch received information that similar incidents of theft had taken place at ATMs in Morena and Shivpuri this month. When the Gwalior team reached Morena, the incident took place there and the thief's dress in Gwalior turned out to be the same. Gwalior Crime Branch and Morena Police jointly launched a joint operation. Investigations revealed that the miscreant who committed the ATM robbery was  Khurshid, a resident of Andraula village in Palwal district of Haryana. Khurshid is the kingpin of the gang, a reward of 25 thousand rupees was also announced on his arrest.

After the arrest of the accused, a team of eight people led by Crime Branch DSP Vijay Bhadauria from Gwalior and eight people from Morena police also reached Haryana in a planned manner. On Tuesday (February 22, 2022) at 2.30 pm, the teams entered Andhraula village, where Khurshid was hiding. When the police arrested the miscreant Khursheed, 200 people from the village attacked the police team. The villagers surrounded the police and opened fire. But the Chambal police did not budge and opened fire in the counter-attack and dragged the miscreant Khurshid into his car and picked him up.
