Mumbai: School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad has made a big statement as the case of Corona virus infection in Maharashtra has increased. He has said that schools will not be opened in the state before Diwali. So far, 15,17,434 cases of infection have been registered in Maharashtra. At the same time, 40,040 people have died due to infection.

The Modi government at the Center had issued orders to close all educational institutions from March 16 to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. The government has now allowed schools to be opened in a phased manner from October 15. In this regard, Gaikwad said that schools are running online classes and in some areas teachers are conducting special classes for students. He said, "We are exploring various options, but it is clear that schools will not open before Diwali."

Senior officials of the state education department have said that in the current circumstances there is no question of opening schools as there is no hope of ending the epidemic. State Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant said that the department is not in support of opening of the college till the infection is controlled.
