Pune: A gold saree has been worn to the statue of the goddess at the Shri Mahalaxmi Temple in Pune, Maharashtra today, on the very important occasion of Vijayadashmi. This tradition is not now but a tradition that has been going on for the last 11 years. It is said that the 16 kg gold saree was offered to Goddess Maa by a devotee and from that day on Vijayadashami and Lakshmi puja, especially goddess maa, this special saree is worn.
