Kolkata: Amidst the uproar over her statement on Mother Kali, West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has given a befitting reply to party MP Mahua Moitra. On a question related to the current controversy, Mamata Banerjee said that the sentiments of the people have to be understood. However, during this time she did not name Mahua Moitra anywhere.

In fact, at an event, when Mahua Moitra was asked about this, she said that there are many forms of Kali. To me Kali means a goddess accepting meat and wine. Mahua Moitra has been receiving a lot of criticism for her statement. There are also demands for her arrest. An FIR has been lodged against Mahua in Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh. At the same time, The Bengal BJP has demanded the arrest of Mahua Moitra.

Mamata Banerjee further said, "Sometimes I feel that we always insist on creating controversy on any negative issue. But we see that every day new things are happening. But the media doesn't talk about those things.'' Mamata further said that sometimes some mistakes are made. Once Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose said write to make a mistake. Who works can make mistakes? It can be corrected, but why shout for it?
