Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is expected to meet her Delhi counterpart Arvind Kejriwal ahead of the INDIA Bloc meeting in Delhi today, according to sources. The Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo is scheduled to meet the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief in Delhi at 5 pm today.

Mamata Banerjee arrived in Delhi on Sunday for a four-day visit. The meeting between the two leaders is set to take place hours before the scheduled INDIA alliance meeting in Delhi on December 19. This will mark the fourth meeting of the opposition alliance, the first since the results of the Assembly elections in Telangana, Mizoram, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh were announced.

In addition to the meeting with Arvind Kejriwal, Mamata Banerjee has secured an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 20 at 11 am in Parliament. During this meeting, she is expected to discuss the issue of pending funds from the Centre to West Bengal.

The earlier scheduled meeting on December 6 was postponed to December 17 after key leaders in the alliance, including Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, decided to skip the initial meeting. The meeting was called by the Congress on the day the election results of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, and Rajasthan were announced, following which the BJP crossed the halfway mark in three states.
