Man accused of killing student leader becomes victim of accident

Guwahati: The accused in the beating of a student leader in Assam lost his life in a road accident on Wednesday. Assam Police has said that 13 persons were taken into custody in the case concerned and the main accused was also one of them. But in an attempt to escape from police custody, he met with a road accident and lost his life.

Where it is learnt that the main culprit Neeraj Das is trying to escape from police custody in Jorahat. The police were behind him. Meanwhile, while running into the streets, he collided with a police car coming from the other side. The injured Neeraj Das was immediately admitted to the hospital but doctors declared him brought dead.

According to reports, All Assam Students Union leader Animesh Bhuyan was beaten to death in Jorahat, Assam on Monday. Police said, the student leader of All Assam Students Union (ASU) was surrounded and assaulted by a mob in a dispute on the way. He died in the attack. 13 persons were taken into custody by the police in the case.
