A shocking case of crime is reported from Tingrai Charali area under Duliajan district of Dibrugarh district. In this case, a woman was brutally murdered on Wednesday morning.  According to the news, the husband has been accused of burning the woman alive due to non-fulfilment of the demand of Rs five lakh as dowry.

In this case, the police has arrested the accused and taken them into custody. According to information received from police sources in this case, "Hyder Ali, a resident of Nepali village was married to Nilufar Begum, a resident of Bakul in Dibrugarh a few days ago. After 4 months of marriage,  Wednesday morning he woman tied woman's hand and foot and set her on fire for five lakh rupees. It has been claimed that Hyder Ali and his family had been persecuting Nilufar Begum for mental and physical torture for dowry money.

The family of the woman was not ready to give the dowry amount. In this case, the local people surrounded the young man's house and created a ruckus seeking to punish the accused. According to reports, the police have registered an FIR and the police have started legal proceedings.
