Kangana Ranaut's film 'Manikarnika' which is being made on Rani Laxmibai has also become a battleground on a side of the camera. There are frequent controversies about Manikarnika. Sonu Sood, who plays a leading role in the film, has left the film. When Kangana had left a film, she had said that she did not want to work with a woman director, that is why she left the film. Sonu has responded to this allegation.

Sonu said on the charge of Kangna that he has left the film because of the clash of dates, not the director. Talking about Kangana, Sonu has said that Kangana is a good friend, but it is absurd to mention the issue of male ego to the whole issue. She said that it is foolish to constantly play the feminism card and make this whole issue a matter of male ego.

He said that it is not important that the director belongs to which gender, but what is the importance of their capabilities. There should be no confusion about this. Sonu had worked in Happy New Year under the direction of Farah Khan, in which Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Vivaan Shah, Boman Irani and Deepika Padukone were in the lead roles.

Sonu Sood is currently working in Rohit Shetty's film, Simba. He asked them to shoot some parts again in Manikarnika. Sonu had a beard for the Simba, but he had to be a clean shave in Manikarnika. On this, Sonu said that he will shoot her after shooting the main scenes of Simba.
