Lucknow: A case of gang rape of a triple talaq victim in the name of Halala from Meerut in Uttar Pradesh has come to light. According to the victim, she was gang raped by a maulana in the name of Halala at a hotel in TPNagar. The woman said, 'She wanted to get back from her husband. For this, the Maulana asked him to move. He then called two men from Baghpat and gangraped them on the pretext of halala. ”

According to Meerut Superintendent of Police City Vineet Bhatnagar, police have registered a case against the three accused Umaid, Riyasat and Maulana Sarfaraz on the woman's complaint. Maulana Sarfaraz is said to be absconding at present. Police have sent Umaid and Riyasat to jail and are on the lookout for maulana. The woman from Lisari Gate reportedly got divorced six months ago. Now Shauhar and wife are ready to live together again. When he asked Maulana Sarfaraz of Shahjahan Colony in Lisari Gate for the same, maulana said that the woman has to get halala done first. Only then can she get back from her first husband.

For this, Maulana Sarfaraz called his acquaintance Hafiz Umaid and Riyasat, residents of Milana village of Doghat in Baghpat, to Meerut on October 24. The woman was sent along with the two accused near Noornagar Pulia around 9 pm. The woman was told that Hafiz would get the nikah done and return home in the morning after the halala. The accused then took him to a hotel on NH-58. Here they gang raped the woman. The victim informed her cousin from the hotel itself after which her brother informed the police about the gang rape at night. Police reached the spot and arrested the two accused. Maulana is currently absconding.
