Lucknow: Just ahead of the seventh and final phase of polling for the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, BJP MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi's son Mayank has dealt a major blow to the saffron party. Rita Bahuguna Joshi's son Mayank Joshi has taken over the reins of the Samajwadi Party (SP). In Azamgarh, Akhilesh Yadav welcomed Mayank Joshi to the SP at an election rally. 

Akhilesh raised Mayank's hand on the dais and said, "I welcome him, his arrival will boost the morale of the party leaders. Let me tell you that a few days ago, Mayank Joshi had met Akhilesh Yadav. It was only after this meeting that there was speculation that Mayank Joshi might join the SP. Sharing pictures of the meeting on the eve of voting in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav had written, "Courtesy call from Shri Mayank Joshi ji." Let us know that BJP MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi was seeking ticket for son Mayank from Lucknow Cantt assembly seat. For this, he had also written a letter to the party's top leadership.

Rita Bahuguna had written that Mayank has been working hard for the party for many years. He truly deserves the ticket. If the need arises, he is willing to resign from his MP's post. But the BJP gave ticket from this seat to Brajesh Pathak, a minister in the Yogi government, in place of Mayank.
