Weather Update: IMD predicts rain and snowfall in these states

New Delhi: It has become cold in most of the states of North India including the country's capital Delhi. People are getting relief due to lukewarm sunlight during the day. The Meteorological Department has informed that the weather is going to be dry in the coming days, but there may be rain and snowfall in some states due to Western Disturbance. According to the Meteorological Department, between February 8-10, a new Western Disturbance will knock over the Western Himalayan region, due to which there will be rain and snowfall in many states.

Talking about the weather of the last 24 hours, Andaman and Nicobar Islands have received light to moderate rains, while Arunachal Pradesh, West Bengal-Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Kerala, and Mahe have also received rains. On the other hand, the states of North West, Central, and East India have recorded minimum temperatures between 8 to 10 degrees Celsius. The lowest temperature was 5.3 degrees Celsius in Malanjkhand in East Madhya Pradesh. In addition, dense fog was observed over Uttarakhand, North UP during morning and evening hours. At the same time, the cold waves also caused havoc at some places in Odisha.

According to IMD, there will be rain and snowfall in many states. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Himachal Pradesh on February 5 and 6, while there will be rain and snowfall in Uttarakhand on February 6. At the same time, due to the Western Disturbance coming in the night of February 8, it is expected to rain and snow in the western Himalayan regions on February 8 to 10. Along with this, a thunderstorm warning has been issued for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on February 6 and 7.
