Amarnath Yatra: Army resorting to modern technology to thwart terrorists

SRINAGAR: The annual Amarnath Yatra has begun today amid tight security in Jammu and Kashmir in the wake of the terror threat. The first batch of 2234 passengers has arrived in Kashmir today. Thousands of devotees will arrive at the holy cave at Anantnag in South Kashmir on the first day of the 46-day Amarnath Yatra, which is located at an altitude of 3,880 m.

The first batch of 2234 pilgrims left Jammu and reached Kashmir in 93 vehicles. Half of them have reached the base camps of Baltal and Pahalgam. The Pahalgam, which is the traditional route of the Yatra, was rested this evening at the Nunavan Base Camp, where about 22 bhandaras have been set up. The Yatra began with traditional pleasures from Mangal Aarti, where Lord Bholanath was worshipped and wished that the Yatra brought happiness and peace to all.

The Amarnath Yatra has a full-proof arrangement to thwart any nefarious designs by terrorists. The Indian Army, CRPF, BSF and other paramilitary forces have been deployed on the National Highway, the administration is a gilt and vigilant because of the strict instructions given by Home Minister Amit Shah to make all necessary arrangements for the pilgrimage.
