New Delhi: A new phase of vaccination drive was launched in the country from June 21 amid coronavirus. Under this, a free vaccine is now being administered to every citizen above the age of 18 years in the country. In many states, vaccination is not taking place due to a shortage of vaccines. It was in this meantime that a study was conducted by Oxford University. The Oxford-AstraZeneca and Pfizer-Biotech vaccines are helping a lot to protect people from corona all over the world. According to research, the mixing of the AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccine will develop immunity to fight corona.

Mixing of both vaccines produces good amounts of antibodies against corona. Both these doses are said to be taken in a span of four weeks. According to a com-COV study in the UK, the 'mix and match' combination of Oxford and Pfizer vaccines was trialed. So as to see to what extent these vaccines can be used in place of each other. After which it was learned that such an attempt would be effective in fighting corona. Their immunity against corona has increased considerably.

Professor Snape explained, "The 4-week gap between mixed doses is correct, but the difference is less than the eight to 12-week schedule normally used for the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.'' On vaccine mixing, Deputy Chief Medical Officer Professor Jonathan Van-Tam said, "Today's data gives us an important news item. According to it, taking a mixed dose of the vaccine will increase protection against corona just after four weeks.'’
