Mizoram Election Results 2023: After the announcement of outcomes in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh. The recent elections in Mizoram, conducted for the 40 assembly seats on November 7, witnessed intense competition among prominent contenders such as the Mizo National Front (MNF), Zoram People's Movement (ZPM), Congress, and BJP, all vying for dominance.

Live coverage of the counting of votes for the Mizoram Assembly elections is currently underway at a center in Serchhip district. Initial indicators from exit polls suggested a tight contest between the incumbent MNF and the ZPM, led by former IPS officer Lalduhoma.

Projections varied, with some favoring Chief Minister Zoramthanga's MNF, while others anticipated a triumph for the ZPM. However, early trends point towards a significant advantage for the ZPM, indicating a potential landslide victory.

MNF, ZPM, and Congress contested all 40 assembly seats, while BJP participated in 23 seats. The voter turnout for the Mizoram assembly elections stood at 80.43 percent during the polling held on November 7.

Originally slated for December 3, the counting day was rescheduled to December 4 due to multiple appeals received by the Election Commission from various groups within Mizoram. These representations collectively sought a revision of the counting date from December 3, 2023 (Sunday), to another weekday. Chief Electoral Officer Madhup Vyas confirmed that the electoral body accommodated this request, acknowledging that Sunday was predominantly devoted to church obligations and prayers in Mizoram.
