Mizoram will get two RT-PCR mobile vans: Health Minister

Aizawl: Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya informed that the Center will provide two RT-PCR mobile vans to the state of Mizoram. The Health Minister said during a meeting with Lok Sabha member C. Lalrosanga and Rosangjuala, the newly appointed Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Chief Minister Zoramthanga. The Union Health Minister also informed both the leaders that Chief Minister Zoramthanga and Health Minister Dr. R. At Lalthangliana's request, more ventilators and ICU related equipment will be provided to the state.

According to the Health Department, Mizoram recorded 1,257 new Covid-19 cases on Friday, 37 fewer than the previous day, which rose to 85,366. He said the death toll rose to 285 as seven more people succumbed to the infection. At least 252 children and a Border Security Force (BSD) jawan are among the newly infected, he said.

He said that fresh cases were reported from various districts, with Aizawl district recording the maximum number of 897, Lunglei 100 and Lawangtlai 67. He said that at least 639 patients have developed symptoms of Kovid-19. Mizoram now has 14,997 active cases, while 70,084 people have recovered from the infection. At least 751 people have recovered from the infection on Friday. The recovery rate in Kovid-19 patients is 82 percent and the mortality rate is 0.33 percent. The state has so far conducted more than 10.51 lakh sample tests for COVID-19.
