Ahmedabad: Two private buses were set on fire by a mob of angry people after an elderly man died on the outskirts of Gujarat's Bharuch town after he came under a bus on the outskirts of Gujarat. According to the police, no one was injured in the mob violence as all the passengers on board two buses of the Dahej-based firm got off before the fire could take a severe turn. There were about 100 people in the crowd. 

Police have registered two separate FIRs over the death of the elderly man and the torching of buses by the mob. Police inspector A K Bharwad said a senior citizen named Ismail Manchwala (65) was crushed to death by a private company's bus at Sherpur bus stand around 9 pm, which enraged some locals. Later, a mob of around 100 locals set two buses on fire. No one was injured in the incident as all the passengers got down quickly."

A case has been registered against the unidentified bus driver, who fled the spot after the incident, for rash and negligent driving and causing death due to it. The official also said that another FIR has been lodged against a mob of around 100 people on charges of assault and rioting. On getting the information, local firefighters rushed to the spot and brought the fire in the buses under control. No one has been arrested so far in connection with the incident.
