New Delhi: Mohammed Zubair, the co-founder of controversial website Alt News, has been granted bail. Zubair has got this bail in a case registered in Delhi, but he has other cases registered against him, so he will not be able to get out of jail for the time being. The case related to Zubair was heard today by the Patiala House Court from where he got bail. But until all the FIRs club and order a simultaneous hearing, Zubair will have to remain in jail.

The Patiala House Court has ordered Zubair to be granted bail on a personal bond of Rs 50,000. In court, Delhi Police opposed Zubair's bail application. During the hearing, the Delhi Police said that Zubair has taken funding of Rs 56 lakh from abroad, which has resulted in a violation of the FCRA. The Delhi Police said that if granted bail, it can erase some evidence. The FIR was registered in connection with a tweet made by Zubair in 2018. It changed the name of 'Honeymoon Hotel' to Hanuman Hotel. A case was registered for hurting religious sentiments.

Let us know that there are a total of 7 FIRs registered against Zubair. Of these, 6 are recorded in Uttar Pradesh and one in Delhi. Zubair has been detained in a total of four cases so far. This includes the cases of Delhi, Sitapur, Hathras and Lakhimpur Kheri. Out of these four cases, Zubair has been granted bail in the Sitapur case and now in the Delhi case. To come out of jail, he will also have to get bail in Lakhimpur Kheri and Hathras cases.
