On Sunday, Congress candidate K Jana Reddy memorising his development work while speaking at a coordination meeting. He said that he worked hard for Nagarjuna Sagar Assembly constituency and succeeded in solving many issues faced by the people.

Congress leaders at Nagarjuna Sagar, he said the constituency was surrounded by forest area and irrigation project and there was no other village within 15 km radius. “A drinking water scheme with Rs 25 crore was sanctioned to Nagarjuna Sagar during the Congress rule in erstwhile Andhra Pradesh due to my efforts,” he said.

Stating that earlier, the entire land was under purview of PWD, he said that he has succeeded in pursuing the government in 1983 to provide ownership to the residents of 2,000 quarters at a nominal payment of Rs 100 at Nagarjuna Sagar. “Due to my efforts, penalties imposed on people under the pretext of unauthorized constructions were also cancelled by the state government in 1985,” he added.He reminded that a residential school was set up at Nagarjuna Sagar about 35 years ago.
