The Naxals in Chhattisgarh are threatening it's residents of the Dantewada district. According to sources, they have recently asked them to devote a member from each family to join the Naxals. Meanwhile, in the recent months, the clashes and fights between the Naxals and the security forces have increased many folds.

The Naxals seem to have noticed the lack of strength on their side and hence are forcing the natives to provide a member from each family. A localite asserted, "They have informed us that one member from each family needs to join them otherwise they will kill us. We are really scared of them. We don't know what to do next." Whereas the Chhattisgarh has denied from any such demand by the Naxalites.

R L Dangi, the Deputy Commissioner affirmed, "Police has not received any kind of information regarding this - that the Naxals have announced that locals should join them. Their (Naxal's) population is declining day-by-day as police is taking strict actions. Maybe that's why they are trying to create a psychological pressure amongst the masses. However, the youth in the area have now understood that the Naxals won't do anything good for them."
