NFR is going to start Vistadome tourist special trains in two routes

Guwahati: Northeast Frontier Railway General Manager Anshul Gupta said that from August 28, 2021 (Saturday), Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) is going to start Vistadome Tourist Special trains in two identified popular routes with tourism potential. One is between Guwahati-New Haflong and the other between New Jalpaiguri-Alipurduar Junction. Senior Railway officials and officials of the Assam Tourism Department were present during the interaction.

The General Manager further added that, the introduction of Vistadome tourist trains is meant to showcase the cultural heritage of the region during a unique train journey. The Vistadome coaches are equipped with state-of-the-art glass windows and all-glass roofs, which provide the tourists with a 360-degree view of the open sky, mountains, tunnels, bridges, hills and lush green forests. The rotational seats of the coach are designed to provide additional comfort to the passengers. Coaches are also provided with digital entertainment system and Wi-Fi facilities. Wi-Fi based passenger information system is also provided. CCTV cameras and fire alarm systems have also been installed for the safety of the passengers.

The train between Guwahati - New Haflong section will run on Wednesday and Saturday twice a week. The train will depart Guwahati at 6-35 hrs and reach New Haflong at 11-55 hrs. In return direction the train will depart from New Haflong at 17-00 hrs and reach Guwahati at 22-45 hrs. The New Jalpaiguri - Alipurduar Jn train will run initially on three days a week - every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The train will depart from New Jalpaiguri at 7-20 hrs and reach Alipurduar Junction at 13.00 hrs. In the return journey, it will depart Alipurduar Junction at 14-00 hrs and arrive New Jalpaiguri at 19-00 hrs.
