Srinagar: On Saturday, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) launched simultaneous raids at 10 different locations across Jammu and Kashmir. These raids were part of ongoing investigations into cases related to terrorism and the radicalization of individuals within the region.

The focus of the raids was primarily on Gujjar Nagar, located on the outskirts of Jammu city, where authorities targeted specific locations believed to be associated with activities linked to the banned terrorist group, Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI). Jamaat-e-Islami has been designated as a terrorist organization due to its alleged involvement in various illegal activities, including promoting terrorism and radicalization.

Additionally, the NIA conducted searches at residences in the villages of Tarigam and Kahrot in Kulgam district, located in the Kashmir region. These searches targeted individuals suspected of having connections with JeI and were aimed at gathering evidence to further the ongoing investigations into terrorist activities and radicalization efforts.

At the time of reporting, there was no immediate information regarding any arrests made or the discovery of incriminating materials during the raids conducted by the NIA on Saturday. However, such operations are often conducted discreetly, and further details may emerge as the investigations progress.

The NIA's actions underscore the government's commitment to combatting terrorism and addressing the issue of radicalization in Jammu and Kashmir, which has long been a region of concern due to its history of insurgency and militancy.
