In a recent incident, where a man and his family was held for hanging his wife to death and torturing her for Dowry, was cleared of all the charges by Delhi Court. The court has cleared all the accusations made on the husband and family.

Additional Sessions Judge Sanjeev Kumar Malhotra spilled the details of the case by saying,"While it is proved that husband being the companion in the house ought to be able to explain as to the circumstances under which his wife was found lying hanged in the bedroom but there also exists an obligation on the part of the prosecution to prove the guilt of the accused beyond all reasonable doubt."

"Undoubtedly, it is a social and heinous crime to have the wife hanged to death but without any proper and reliable evidence, the court cannot by itself justify its conclusion of murder by the husband,”

The incident took place back in 2008 where the wife hanged herself to death in her in-laws home following which victim's father filed a complaint against her husband and her in-laws.
