Bhubaneswar: Even though we are living in the 21st century today, there are still some practices around us that make us think twice. You will be thinking that such things are relied upon even in today's time. Some old traditions are played in every region of India. One of them is the strange marriage practice of a village in Odisha that you will also be shocked to hear. This strange marriage remains in a lot of headlines on social media these days. Two children have been married to a female dog.

This incident happened in Ganbharia village of Mayurbhanj city in Odisha. The people of this village are tribals. It is not that this kind of marriage takes place only in this village. People living in nearby villages are also still playing similar practices. This custom is prevalent in most of the localities in the tribal people.

In the Ho tribe, if the teeth above the children come first, there is a practice of marrying them with dogs. The teeth above are considered "unshakeable" when it first arrives. If a boy comes he is married to a female dog and if it is a female or a girl then she should be married to a male dog. A similar incident has come to the fore in Gumbria village under Sukirauli block of the city last Friday. Where two families married their sons to a female dog because the two children started having teeth.
