Faridkot: From Bhan Singh Colony of Faridkot, the rotten bodies of the missing couple and their two children have been confiscated from the Sirhind canal passing through the city on Friday. When the water level in the canal was low, passersby saw the car in the morning and informed the police. After the car was pulled out, the bodies of the four family members were confiscated from the car. The police had already registered a case in the police station Kotwali on the statement of Mahinderpal Singh, the father-in-law of Bharamjit Singh, the head of the family. The four bodies have been sent to Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.

According to reports, Bharamjit Singh (36), who works as a helper at Guru Gobind Singh Medical College Hospital under Baba Farid University, had left home in his car along with his wife Rupinder Kaur (35), daughter Mannatpreet Kaur (14) and son Rajdeep Singh (12) at 2 am on June 2. Since then, he was not able to find out anything. On June 11, Bharamjit Singh had spoken to his father-in-law Mahinderpal Singh on the phone and later disconnected the phone asking him to talk. Since then, his mobile phone has also been switched off. On the complaint of Mahinderpal Singh, police station Kotwali had registered a case under Section 346 of the IPC against the unidentified person and the matter was under investigation.

On Friday, the bodies of the four family members, including his car, were seized from the canal. Speaking on the occasion, the father-in-law of the deceased, Mahinderpal Singh, accused the police of not taking proper action and demanded justice. The family has alleged that the family is being harassed by a person working with Bhamjit Singh in the hospital in connection with the transaction and he is behind the incident. The family also staged a dharna in front of the police station demanding that the man be named in the case. Assistant SHO of Thana Kotwali Jaskaran Singh said that post-mortem of the bodies is being conducted by the police and the entire case is being investigated closely. Whatever facts come out, action will be taken on the basis of that.
