The first Diwali that Pavvitra Punia and Eijaz Khan have celebrated together since getting engaged, the couple intends to host a small party to celebrate the occasion with their families.

This year, we're going to have a family-only party at home instead of inviting friends. The festival of Diwali will be observed by Eijaz and I as a couple for the second year in a row. The excitement has reached a new level since we moved in together, Punia tells us.

The actor continues, "And how can I forget the Diwali puja and the authentic food which I make on Diwali, which I have learned from my mother. So, I'll prepare aloo gobhi, puri, jeere wala raita, and gulab jamun. After he proposed, we are so eager to celebrate.

The actor reveals that they have planned a party up to this point and will finalise the remaining details of the day closer to the event.

"Abhi tak toh party ka hi hua hai. We'll hang lights from ceiling to floor to represent a glimmer of hope, the vanishing of the night, and the saying "cheezin ache se rahein" (lights of hope). It implies that because there is light all around us, there is no need to worry or feel sad. In fact, she says with a chuckle, "this time I'll teach Eijaz how to make Rangoli.

She will splurge on jewellery and kitchenware for her Dhanteras celebration. "Our family's golden rule is that I make sure to buy something on Dhanteras... Buy something, regardless of how small or large it is. I make it a point to go shopping, even if I must shoot somewhere or feel under the weather, she says.

She buys utensils to begin her shopping extravaganza. "I enjoy purchasing dishes, cutlery, and cooking tools. My eyes automatically turn to steel cookware on Dhanteras, and I purchase quality bartan. Then I find myself in a jewellery store where I make a purchase of gold or diamond, she quips.

Before we end, we change the subject from the holiday and inquire about her upcoming nuptials. Eijaz proposed in August, and she responds with a hearty laugh. "Well, we are certainly enjoying this stage of our lives, which is lovely. We desire blessings from all people as well as protection from the evil eye. See what the future has in store for us," she concludes.

"Trolling should be taken with a grain of salt", according to Rajiv Adatia
