Ahmedabad: PM Narendra Modi's aunt Narmadaben Modi passed away at a civil hospital on Tuesday. Narmadaben was undergoing corona treatment at the hospital. She was 80 years old. Narmadaben Modi lived with his children in The New Ranip area of Ahmedabad. Pm Narendra Modi's younger brother Prahlad Modi said that our aunt Narmadaben was admitted to the civil hospital about 10 days ago after her condition deteriorated after she became corona positive.

Prahlad Modi further said that today he breathed his last at the Civil Covid-1,200 bedded hospital in Ahmedabad. Prahlad Modi said Jagjivan das, brother of PM Modi's father Damodardas, had passed away many years ago. Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has paid homage in a tweet on the passing away of PM Modi's aunt.

Shivraj Singh Chouhan tweeted from his official Twitter handle that "Deeply saddened by the passing away of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aunt Smt. Narmadaben Modiji. I pray to God to give the departed soul the place at its feet and the strength to bear this profound pain to the family members. Humble tribute!"
