Chandigarh: PM Narendra Modi's Ferozepur rally has been postponed. Ferozepur had been receiving rain since Wednesday morning due to which PM Hussainiwala returned to Delhi from the border. Meanwhile, a major security lapse has been reported in PM Narendra Modi. After which a new dispute has started between the Central Government and the Government of Punjab.

According to the Home Ministry, some protesters blocked the road when the Prime Minister's convoy reached a flyover, about 30 km from the National Martyrs' Memorial in Hussainiwala. The Prime Minister was stranded on the flyover for 15-20 minutes. It was a major lapse in the security of the Prime Minister. According to the Home Ministry, the Punjab government was already informed about the PM's programme and travel plan. According to the procedure, they had to make necessary arrangements for logistics, security as well as contingency planning. Also, in view of the contingency plan, the Punjab Government will have to deploy additional security to secure any movement by road, which were not clearly deployed. After this security lapse, it was decided to return to Bathinda Airport.

The same Home Ministry says that it is taking cognizance of this serious security lapse and a detailed report has been sought from the State Government. The State Government has also been asked to fix the responsibility for the lapse and take strict action. Bjp Chief JP Nadda said that it is sad that the Prime Minister's visit to punjab to start development projects worth thousands of crores was disrupted.
