Moscow: Prime Minister Modi, who arrived in Russia on Thursday, described India and Russia as important allies in the Eastern Economic Forum on Thursday, saying that more than 50 agreements were discussed between the two countries. PM Modi, referring to India's strong relations with Russia, said that the two countries will write a new chapter of development in the Asia Pacific region through mutual cooperation.

During this period PM Modi specifically mentioned the chemistry with the Russian President. PM Modi said that during this tour, talks between the two continued till 1 pm. Through 'Dasvidaniya' and 'Awajo' of Gujarati, PM Modi referred to the shared culture of Russia and India. PM Modi said, 'I had received an invitation from my friend President Putin to join the EEF even before the Lok Sabha elections. My friend Putin also showed the faith that 120 crore people of India showed to me, I thank him too. Russia and India have a common heritage and we will take it forward in the future".

Emphasizing the success of Far East Vision, PM Modi said, 'Vladivostok is a confluence of Eurasia and the Pacific. This opens up new opportunities for the Arctic and Northern Sea routes. About three-quarters of Russia is Asian. The Far East strengthens the Asian identity of this great country. The area is almost twice the size of India which has a population of only 6 million. India and Russia will work together in this region and it will open new doors of global prosperity. '
