Cancer is considered one of the deadliest diseases in the modern world and when the coronavirus infects a cancer patient, it certainly becomes more deadly. Meanwhile, 20 cancer patients at the Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital in Chennai have defeated the coronavirus.

A top official said that 29 cancer patients (different types and stages of cancer) were admitted to the hospital after infection with coronavirus. Out of this, 20 patients have fully recovered. Seven of these patients are still under treatment, while two have died.

For your information, let us tell you that the Dean of Rajiv Gandhi Government Hospital, Jayanti Rangarajan said that it is not a big challenge to treat a healthy person infected with Coronavirus, but when a person is already suffering from a serious illness and Together he is also corona positive, then it becomes more challenging to treat him. Also, he said that such individuals were already going through a psychological challenge. Therefore, there are more complications in their treatment. Apart from this, the immunity level of people suffering from cancer is low and hence there is a high risk of coronavirus infection. Cancer specialist doctors in the hospital advised the covid-19 team on the issues faced by cancer patients.
