Prez Ram Nath Kovind arrives at Dharamshala for 2-day visit

SHIMLA: President Ram Nath Kovind arrived in Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, on Friday for a two-day visit. In preparation for the President's visit, paragliding, drone flying, and hot air ballooning have been banned in the Lahaul-Spiti and Kullu districts on June 11, when he is slated to visit the Atal Tunnel Rohtang.

Himachal Pradesh Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, Assembly Speaker Vipin Singh Parmar, and Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Sarveen Chaudhary greeted Kovind at SAI Ground Dharamshala.

On the occasion, MP Kishan Kapoor, MLA Vishal Neharia, Mayor MC Dharamshala Onkar Neharia, Chief Secretary Ram Subhag Singh, Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu, Principal Secretary GAD Bharat Khera, Deputy Commissioner of Kangra Nipun Jindal, and Superintendent of Kangra Khushal Sharma were also present. 

In the evening, the President will preside over the central university's sixth convocation in Dharamshala, Kangra district.  On Saturday, he will visit the Atal Tunnel Rohtang, which connects the regions of Kullu and Lahaul-Spiti. Prime Minister Narendra Modi dedicated the famous tunnel on October 3, 2020.
