Amritsar: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh has given a clean chit to the Central government on the Jallianwala Bagh renovation, unlike former Congress president Rahul Gandhi. He said I was present at the inauguration program and I think the Jallianwala Bagh renovation is quite great. When questioned about the questions being raised on the renovation of Jallianwala Bagh and Rahul Gandhi's tweet, Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh said that when PM Modi inaugurated Jallianwala Bagh after renovation, and a full laser show was held there, I was also present at the event.

CM Amarinder said that i think the changes that have been made there are good and the buildings that had become weak over time also had to be repaired.  Earlier, former Congress National President Rahul Gandhi had termed jallianwala bagh renovation as an insult to the martyr.  Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi had also responded by attacking the Centre on the issue.

In a tweet, he wrote, "Such an insult to the martyrs of Jallianwala Bagh can only be done by those who do not know the meaning of martyrdom. I am the son of a martyr - I will not tolerate the humiliation of martyrs at any cost. We are against this indecent cruelty.''
