Recipe to prepare homemade Queso Fresco Cheese

In this lockdown but not complete lockdown situation we all are confused with what  to do and what not so why not let's cook. Yes, this can be great hobby and you can enjoy some yummy tastes. Here we got you this homemade Mexican cheese that has a milky and mild flavour.

Queso Fresco is a fresh and unaged cheese made from goat or cow milk. It taste tangy and slightly salty. Just a two main ingredient recipe to try of this cheese include milk and vinegar or lime juice. It goes well with a variety of Mexican dishes and can also be used in salads. Steps to prepare:

Step 1

Take a pot, add litre of milk, cup whipping cream, buttermilk and kosher salt. Cook these ingredients on medium heat till boil comes. 

Step 2

Now after the ingredients are kept aside for releasing off heat. Add apple cider vinegar and distilled white vinegar to the milk mixture gradually. You will notice the milk separating into curdles. Let it rest for 30-35 minutes. 

Step 3

Pour the curdled milk into the colander through the cheesecloth to let the liquid drain. Once all the excess liquid has been drained, take the cheesecloth and twist the top of it to close it and to secure the cheese. Squeeze the cloth to again drain any excess liquid from the cheese. 

Step 4

Hang the cloth from the faucet to let the liquid drain for about an hour. Now take the cheese and shape it firmly into a round shape with your hands. And then it is ready to use for an hour of sit.
