Amritsar: Punjab Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has submitted the investigation report of the alleged land scam in the village of Amritsar to the state CM Bhagwant Mann. After this, Dhaliwal told that his department has constituted a three-member investigation team to investigate the alleged scam in Bhagatpura village. He informed that the land was sold by the Gram Panchayat to Alpha International City.

The AAP government of Punjab has given this information on the indigenous social media platform Koo App. The Punjab government has written in its post that, 'Rural Development and Panchayat Minister Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal has submitted the report of the team probing the Amritsar Gram Bhagatpura land scam to Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.' The cabinet minister said that the Panchayat Department had constituted a three-member investigation team on May 20.

Dhaliwal has also informed that the matter of the alleged scam and several other violations in the land deal has come to his notice after the formation of the Bhagwant Mann government, following which he has directed the officials to constitute a three-member committee and look into the matter. Last month, Dhaliwal had said that the three-member committee will probe the alleged scam of handing over pradhan panchayat land to a "settler" by former Congress minister Partap Rajinder Singh Bajwa.

Dhaliwal had at that time accused Bajwa of allowing the illegal sale of panchayat land even after the model code of conduct came into force. A letter for this permission was issued on March 11, a day after the results of the 2022 state assembly elections was declared. Dhaliwal had also said that the former minister had no right to give permission at that time.
