Thane: During a rally held in Thane on Tuesday, Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray has asked the state government to remove loudspeakers from mosques by May 3. Addressing a huge crowd of MNS supporters, Thackeray said that if the loudspeakers are not removed, the party workers will start playing Hanuman Chalisa from loudspeakers in front of mosques.

During the rally on Tuesday, Thackeray said if the state government did not take action and removed all loudspeakers, then he or his party should not be held responsible for further action. Earlier this month, MNS chief Thackeray announced that the Maharashtra government should remove all loudspeakers from mosques as it causes problems for others.

Thackeray had further said that he was not against any prayer, but people should follow their devotion in their respective homes and should not let others suffer. After this statement of the same Raj Thackeray, the MNS workers are playing the recitation of Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers at many places. In Mumbai's Kurla and Ghatkopar also, MNS activists had tried to play Hanuman Chalisa on loudspeakers, after which the police acted on it and gave notice to the activists.
