Mumbai: Omicron has wreaked havoc across the country, while open schools in Maharashtra are likely to be closed again after a long wait. Replying to growing problems on omicron issues in Maharashtra, State School Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad said this could happen soon. He said that if the cases continue to grow, the government may decide to close the schools again.

Out of the total case load of 224 omicron cases in India, 54 are from Maharashtra. However, there are 57 cases in the national capital, Delhi. With this, Maharashtra ranks second in the country in terms of omicrons. The State Education Minister said that if the cases of Omicron continue to rise, we can decide to close the schools again. At present, we are monitoring the situation.

Let me tell you that recently schools are reopened in the state. In Mumbai, primary class students were allowed to come to school from December 16. Chandigarh state has also decided to close the school in view of the increasing corona cases. In addition, the dates for 2022 Board Examinations in Maharashtra have also been released. In such a situation, the corona crisis is bound to harm the education of the children in case of closure of the school.
