The dairy industry in India is on a boom. In such a situation, central and state governments are also working to provide assistance to cattle herders at all levels. In the same vein, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying had launched the 'Animal Husbandry Startup Grand Challenge' to bring new innovations in the dairy sector. In fact, according to the Ministry, the objective is to solve and explore innovative ideas for six major problems related to animal husbandry and the dairying sector. Let me tell all of you that under this scheme of the Government, cattle herders and traders working in the dairy sector are being given a chance to apply for the 'Animal Husbandry Startup Grand Challenge.'

Under this challenge, applicants can win Rs 10 lakh as winners by giving new innovative ideas in the field of animal husbandry to the dairy department. Yes, and interested candidates can apply for the second edition of animal husbandry startup Grand Challenge by visiting the department's website till 15th January 2022. Let me tell you all that the government launched the first edition of this challenge in September 2019. With the help of this campaign, the Government wants to encourage young traders working on modern technologies to come into the animal husbandry sector.

On the other hand, according to the Dairy Ministry, through this startup challenge, it is actively working on challenges such as increasing the number of animals, using modern technology for identification, preparing cold storage etc. to ensure supply of milk, etc. Let me tell all of you that the website of the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying mentions that 6 challenges have been put up in this competition. The winner of each challenge will be given Rs 10 lakh and the runner-up will be given Rs 7 lakh. The Ministry will also monitor the activities of the winners for three months and their activities for 9 months and all possible help will be made.

Cost-effective, long-term and user-friendly options for storing and supplying seam doses.
Development of cost-effective techniques for the identification and detection of animals (RFIDs).
Development of Heat Detection Kit.
Development of Pregnancy Diagnosis Kit for Dairy Animals.
Improvement in milk supply chain from Village Collection Centre to Dairy Plant.
Development of low-cost cooling and milk preservation system and data logger.
