Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in a recent interaction with farmers on the second day of the three-day international seminar ‘Suflam’ organised at Swatantrata Bhawan of Banaras Hindu University (BHU) on his one-day visit to Varanasi on Sunday, said that due to climate change, the biggest loss was in crop and water and it is need of the hour to put more emphasis on cow-based farming. Playing with the declining mother is wrong and should be stopped at any cost.

He addresses saying that having the largest population in Uttar Pradesh, the main source of income is agriculture. Yogi stressed that for this it is “necessary that cow-based natural farming should be replaced by chemical-based farming, for this the ‘Natural Council’ has been formed. Expressing concern, he said that people are making the environment poisonous for their own development”.

Life exists only from the five elements Kshitij, Jal, Pavak, Gagan, and Sameer and it needs to be saved now. Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh said that Indian culture is based on the principle of “Vasudev Kutumbakam” an idea of our ancestors needed to be given more strength.

He said that we should be shifting our focus from chemical-based farming as it is causing nature great harm which we won’t be able to undo if the disasters begin. He even said that the state has the most fertile land with the best water resource and owns 12% of the country’s total agricultural land and contributes only 20% of the country’s food grain production. Uttar Pradesh is at the number one position in the whole country in terms of wheat production and claims that the productivity of agriculture has increased during the pandemic in the world.

The government also operates all the sugar mills in the state and payment of more than 1.80 lakhs crore has been made in the favor of cane farmers, and also directed the DMs of the four districts to open more paddy purchase centers for the ease of the farmers. The four districts are Gorakhpur, Basti, Azamgarh, and Devipatan.

Farmers should be moving towards horticulture, vegetable farming, and mixed cropping to work for hand in hand with the present market demands and agro-climate zone compatibility.

The government is serious about the matter of increasing the income of the farmers. The Chief Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India will give new guidance to the world by 'leading' the G-20 countries, it is a matter of pride for India, and this year is important for us. He told that from December 1, 2022, till November 30, 2023, India has got the opportunity to lead the G-20 to form the policy of 20 big countries of the world.

Suflam has been successfully organized at 12 places in India, at present, the Prime Minister is also placing Indian knowledge on every political platform of India or the world for the protection of Panch Bhootas.

Tomar said that the land has been called mother because she is the nurturer of all, the second is our mother cow. If we do not protect Mother Earth and Mother Cow, then all the problems will continue to appear.
