Palghar - Maharashtra: In a horrific incident, the body of a 15-year-old girl was reportedly found stuffed in a bag on the side of a highway in Vasai of Maharashtra's Palghar district on Friday, August 26.

A police official said that the body was found close to Naigaon Bridge on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway at around 2:00 pm.  A passerby found the bag and alerted the Valiv police, subsequently, a team rushed to the scene, Police said.

The body had many stab wounds, and a government hospital in Vasai received it for a post-mortem. 

The officer said, "A case of kidnapping was registered at the Andheri police station. The deceased girl was living in the Andheri neighborhood of Mumbai."A case has been filed under Indian Penal Code Section 302 (murder).\

"The deceased minor's family members said that the girl had left her home to go to school, but when she did not return until late in the day, a police report was made at the Andheri police station. The girl's body was found today in the late afternoon in a bag. The Valiv police have opened a murder investigation and are reviewing the nearby CCTV "police reported.
