Patna: Bihar is emerging as a hub of cyber fraud. Bihar Police has arrested 30 hackers and cyber frauds in raids in 10 districts. This action has been taken by the Economic Offences Wing (EOU) of Bihar Police. Different teams of EOU simultaneously carried out raids in 10 districts.
According to the report received, the Bihar Police has issued a statement and given this information. According to a statement issued by the Bihar Police, 30 cyber criminals, and cyber hackers have been arrested from different places of the state. To carry out this action, the EOU of Bihar Police formed separate teams of about 250 policemen. According to the information received from Bihar Police, a team of 200 policemen and 50 officers have launched a campaign against cybercrime. The operation started on Saturday and the operation continued till late Sunday night. It has also been reported by the Bihar Police how many criminals were arrested from which district during this campaign.
According to Bihar Police, 17 criminals have been caught from the Nawada district itself. Two criminals have been arrested from the Vaishali district, two each from Naugachia and Nalanda districts, and one each from Motihari, Aurangabad, Bhagalpur, Kaimur, and Bettiah districts. Bihar Police has recovered a huge amount of mobile phones, ATMs, and other equipment as well as cash from these criminals. A total of 37 smartphones, four laptops, 19 ATM cards of different banks, and one ATM swap machine have been recovered from the arrested criminals and hackers, the Bihar Police said. According to the EOU of Bihar Police, Rs 2 lakh 80 thousand cash has also been recovered from the criminals. The recovered cash has been seized. The EOU of Bihar Police has said that the initial investigation has revealed that the arrested criminals have links with cyber criminals. According to the EOU, initial investigations have revealed links between these criminals with cybercriminals from other states as well. The matter is being investigated.
