Thane: In a shocking incident, a 39-year-old man working as a corporate consultant in Maharashtra's Thane city fell victim to sex. He had a video call from a woman. Thereafter, he allegedly extorted Rs 6.50 lakh from him by threatening him. The victim has lodged a complaint with the police.

In the complaint, the victim has said that on March 17, a video call was received on WhatsApp from a number. A woman was talking on a video call. In the middle of the call, she suddenly removed her clothes, after which, the victim immediately disconnected the phone. After some time, a video and some screenshots of the woman came on WhatsApp, in which there was a recording of the conversation on the video call. After some time it was immediately deleted. The next day, the victim received a call from an unknown number in which the caller identified himself as the Delhi Police Commissioner, police said, quoting the complaint.

The caller said the woman runs a sex racket. The police are looking for her. Due to the investigation, a video has been found, which was going to be uploaded on social media. The caller told the victim that if you want to stop the video from being uploaded on social media, then contact a person. Thereafter, the victim called on the said number. When the victim called on that number, she demanded Rs 50,000. Then, out of fear, the victim gave Rs 50,000. Subsequently, between March 18 and 25, a total of Rs 6.50 lakh was allegedly extorted from the victim through intimidation. The victim lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday and the police registered a case against 15 people and started investigating the matter. However, no arrest has been made so far.
