District judge to hear Gyanvapi case, area of Shivling to remain sealed..., Supreme Court orders

New Delhi: The controversial Gyanvapi Mosque case in Varanasi was today debated in the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has transferred the Gyanvapi Mosque case to the district judge. The apex court has also issued an order in this regard. The Supreme Court has said that arrangements will be made for Vaju in the disputed premises. Along with this, the area of the Shivling will be completely sealed.

After hearing a plea from the Muslim side, Justice Chandrachud Singh said that it is not prohibited to ascertain the religious character of a place. In fact, Ahmedi, the counsel for the Muslim side, had questioned that there was a clear ban on changing the religious character of the place of worship. Why was the Commission constituted? Was it to see what was there? Justice Chandrachud Singh made the observation on this. The top court has expressed displeasure over the leak of the report of the surveying commission.

The top court said that the report of the commission should not be leaked and the report should be submitted only before the judge. The court said during the hearing that the leaks in the media should be stopped. The report had to be submitted to the court. The court should have opened it. We need to maintain a sense of balance and peace on the ground. In a way, healing touch is needed. We are on a joint mission to maintain the spirit of balance in the country.
