New Delhi: The apex court will not give its verdict on the petition filed for the final year examinations of the university. The decision will be pronounced on the next hearing day. Now students will have to wait a little longer for the decision to be taken on the examinations.

On August 18, the apex court reserved its verdict while hearing a petition filed against the UGC guidelines. The case is being heard by a bench of Supreme Court Justices Ashok Bhushan, R Subhash Reddy and MR Shah. Earlier, the verdict was expected to come on Monday, but later in the apex court, lawyer Alakh Alok Srivastava had tweeted that the court can pronounce the verdict by Wednesday.

On August 18, the various petitions challenging the UGC's guideline to conduct the final year or semester examinations of the Graduation and Post Graduation Courses till 30 September were held simultaneously in the University and other higher education institutions. On this day, the Supreme Court reserved the verdict while completing the hearing, the verdict was expected to be pronounced today, but it could not happen due to the case being listed.
