Unnao case to be heard today, may order victim to be admitted to AIIMS

New Delhi: Supreme Court to hear unnao rape case again today. A bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi today ordered the victim to be admitted to AIIMS and transfer her uncle from Rae Bareli jail to Tihar jail in Delhi. 

The court has sought the family's opinion on the case of the victim being admitted to AIIMS. On Thursday, the apex court had ordered the transfer of all the five cases related to the case from UP to Delhi.

The first five cases- the rape of the victim, the second case of gang rape, the third case - the arrest and beating of the victim's father in a false case, the fourth case - the death in the custody of the victim's father and the fifth case - is road accident. These 5 cases have been transferred to the Tis Hazari Court. These five cases have been transferred to the court of District Judge Dharmesh Sharma. The Tis Hazari Court will have to complete the trial of these cases within 45 days. The matter will be heard daily.

The court had directed the UP government to pay compensation of Rs 25 lakh to the victim's family. The court had ordered the victim's family to provide security. The court had also said that if the rape victim wishes, we can order him to airlift him from Lucknow to Delhi for treatment. The apex court has also sought transfer of the rape victim's uncle from Rae Bareli jail to Tihar jail in Delhi.
