New Delhi: The Supreme Court today delivered its verdict on Amazon's plea against the much-talked-about deal between Reliance and Future Group. The verdict in Amazon's favor has been delivered by the top court. Reliance and Future Group's nearly 24,000 crores deal has just been put on hold. The apex court in its judgment has said that the emergency arbitration decision in Singapore will also be applicable in India. Amazon had also filed a petition against the merger deal in India after the Reliance-Future Group deal was banned in Singapore.

The High Court had refused to stay the deal, which Amazon had first moved the Delhi High Court against reliance and future group's nearly 24,000 crores deal. It was then that Amazon moved to the Supreme Court. Tell you that big bazaars prevalent in different parts of the country are part of the Future Group. Some time ago, Reliance and Future Group had the biggest deal on the retail market and future group ownership rights came to Reliance after a deal of Rs 24,713 crores.

Amazon had protested over the same deal, as Amazon had a 49 percent partnership with a Future Group company. According to the deal, if the company is sold, Amazon will have the first right to buy. But this was not followed in the Reliance-Future Group deal. Amazon was the first to approach a Singapore court where a verdict came in Amazon's favor. The matter then moved to the Delhi High Court, in which the high court had asked for the deal to be carried forward, but now the apex court has stayed it.
