New Delhi: Almost 8 years have passed since Nirbhaya's case since 2012. And every time, the lawyer of those poor people starts some new trick. At the same time, whether Nirbhaya's poor will be hanged on 3 March 2020 or not, there has been doubt on this. The Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the corrective petition of a convict, Pawan Gupta, on Monday. At the same time, another convict Akshay Singh again filed a mercy petition before the President on Saturday, 29 February 2020. On 17 February 2020, the lower court issued a death warrant for the four convicts and set the date for hanging on March 3, at 6 am.
It has been learned that on the petition filed by Pawan on Friday, 28 February 2020, a 5-member bench headed by Justice NV Ramana will hear these chambers on Monday morning. The court has dismissed the corrective petition of the remaining three convicts. It is also being said that due to legal tricks, the convicts have not been hanged despite the death warrant being issued twice. Recently, Delhi High Court had said that all four would be hanged together. It has been challenged in the Supreme Court by the Central and Delhi Government, which is to be heard on March 5.
Petition to stop execution Additional Sessions Judge Dharmendra Rana has sought a reply from the Tihar Jail Administration till March 2 on this. In the petition, Akshay claimed that his new mercy petition is pending before the President. At the same time, Pawan has cited a corrective petition.
